2025 Association of Women in Agriculture Benefit Corporation Elects Board Members
Eight board members were elected by members of the Association of Women in Agriculture Benefit Corporation (AWABC) at their annual meeting on April 5. All board members are passionate about AWA and look forward to giving back to the organization by helping to lead the direction of the alumni association.
Katy Katzman, class of ‘98, was elected as AWABC president. Katy resides in Whitewater, Wis. and serves as the Business Manager for Katzman Farms.
Elected as Vice President is Dianne Deaton Vielhuber, class of ‘89. Dianne has worked in marketing and promotional work in a variety of capacities and is also a published author, ordained as a United Methodist pastor and self-employed as an independent contractor. She resides in Reedsburg, Wis.
Joining the board as Secretary is Marjorie Stieve, class of ‘91. Marjorie resides in Baraboo, Wis. and is the Marketing Services Manager at Vita Plus Corporation.
Jill Makovec, BS class of ‘00 and MS class of ‘02, and Sharon Brantmeier, class of ‘95, were elected as co-chairs of the House Management Committee. Jill resides in Madison, Wis. and Muscoda, Wis. and works as the Strategic Marketing Executive at Brownfield Ag News and Wis Radio Network. Sharon resides in Fitchburg, Wis. and Wilton, Wis. and is retired as Owner/Private Wealth Advisor from Eventus Wealth Advisors.
Elected to the Programming Committee is Anne Runde, class of ‘22. Anne resides in Fort Atkinson, Wis. and is the Market Development Specialist at Holstein Association USA.
Elected as Director-at-Larges are Dorothy Harms, class of ‘81, and Taylor Schaefer, class of ‘22. Dorothy resides in Reedsburg, Wis. and is the Business Manager at Valley Springs Farm. Taylor is the Associate Manager - Dairy Company Communications at Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and resides in Milton, Wis.
